Job Summary
Our Ski & Snowboard School Instructors serve as professional representatives of Bear Valley Mountain Resort, often providing the first experience with skiing and/or snowboarding. This position is part of a team dedicated to creating the best possible environment for our guests who choose to take a lesson. Instructors provide an integral link between students, guests and other departments by providing quality lesson experiences for first-time through advanced level skiers and snowboarders.
Full Time and Part Time positions available.

Skills and Competencies
Work Schedules
Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work schedule for Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees.
When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 32 to 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods – particularly the holiday periods in December, January and February – you may be expected to work additional hours and/or days.
Working Conditions
At any time during the ski season, Bear Valley employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.
Employees working inside can expect a noisy environment and frequent contact with guests and other resort employees.
This position requires the physical fitness to ski and/or snowboard up to seven (7) hours per day.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you may be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy roads. The employee shuttle is available from select locations along highway 4 for return transport to and from work.
Uniforms
A professional appearance at Bear Valley Mountain Resort is required, and some uniform items will be provided as part of your role, including pants, jacket, light shirt/hoody, hat and nametag.
You are required to provide some items as part of your job, including skis and poles/snowboard, boots, gloves, helmet and eye protection – all in good condition and working order.
Housing
Some shared housing options are available to qualified Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees who can pass a background check and sign a lease agreement. Please indicate whether you are interested in receiving more detailed information on housing.
The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
