Job summary

Catamount Ski is seeking a Rental Technician to help customers select, fit, and rent ski and snowboard gear in a welcoming resort shop in Massachusetts. You will verify rental forms, process payments, and prepare equipment for individuals and groups, placing emphasis on safety and accurate DIN adjustments.

The role requires strong customer service and knowledge of rental software. Hours may be early morning through early evening with weekend and holiday shifts; prior cash handling is a plus and

Qualifications

• Skilled in providing outstanding customer service.
• In-depth knowledge of skiing and snowboarding equipment.
• Working knowledge of computers and rental software systems.

Responsibilities

• Confirm rental forms are completed and verify accuracy of information.
• Verify rental equipment is paid for and lift tickets are purchased.
• Provide expert advice regarding selection of equipment and gear.
• Fit boots, skis, snowboards, poles and helmets to guest satisfaction.
• Explain how the equipment works and reinforce safety techniques.
• Adjust DIN settings for guest weight, height and ability level.
• Process rental equipment through rental inventory system.
• Inspect equipment before and after rental and tag any needed repairs.
• Maintain rental fleet inventory promptly tracking returned equipment.
• Prepare and organize rentals for large groups and school programs.
• Disinfect boots and helmets per manufacturer recommendations.
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage the till, count start cash and prepare nightly deposit bags.
• Handle customer complaints in a professional and diplomatic way.
• Maintain rental shop and storage racks in a neat and organized fashion.
• Answer telephone calls directed to the rental shop.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
