Job summary

Powderhorn seeks an experienced ski and/or snowboard instructor to guide guests of all ages through lessons on diverse terrain. The role emphasizes safety, guest experience, and adherence to PSIA/AASI standards, with responsibilities spanning lesson planning, equipment checks, and event support.

The position is outdoor and seasonal, involving exposure to temperature extremes and alpine conditions, with a strong focus on customer service and safety in a dynamic winter environment.

Qualifications

• Intermediate or above skier and/or snowboarder.
• Honest, friendly and enthusiastic customer service.
• Safety-focused approach to the job.
• Enthusiasm for working with the public and adaptable to change.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with guests.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with a fun, safe and memorable learning experience on Powderhorn terrain.
• Teach skiing and snowboarding to all ages and levels.
• Follow PSIA/AASI standards in instruction.
• Be aware of lift timing and check-in requirements for lessons.
• Know Powderhorn programs, prices and maps to share with guests.
• Teach the Skier’s Responsibility Code and ensure proper equipment.
• Assist in setting up and running events when needed.
• Know safety procedures for missing or injured students.
• Use radio etiquette when issued a portable radio.
• Read and follow the Seasonal Employee Handbook.
• Provide terrain guidance and support other duties as assigned.
