Job summary

Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, is seeking a Ski Patrol 1 to keep guests safe on the mountain and support daily operations. You will enforce safe practices, respond to emergencies, and assist with mountain safety tasks.

The role requires Outdoor Emergency Care or EMT-1, CPR-BLS, and strong skiing ability, with flexibility for mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Training/sign-offs are provided by Alyeska.

Qualifications

• Outdoor Emergency Care certification or Alaska EMT-1 certification required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required; renewal training provided annually by Alyeska.
• Demonstrated advanced skiing ability and fitness to patrol in variable mountain conditions.
• Ski Patrol qualification signoffs in toboggan handling, lift evacuation, and mountain operations.

Responsibilities

• Enforces safe skiing and riding practices per Alaska laws and Alyeska policies.
• Deploys, inspects, repairs, and adjusts safety equipment and closures on the mountain.
• Provides emergency medical care within certification scope and patrol guidelines.
• Participates in avalanche mitigation and emergency responses as trained.
• Performs opening/closing duties, incident documentation, and patrol sweeps.
• Monitors lifts, reports hazards, and supports mountain safety programs.
• Maintains first-aid facilities, rescue equipment, and storage areas.
• Works flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
