Job summary

McCormick & Company is seeking a Site Training Manager for our Hunt Valley Plant to lead the Training & Development program within the Journey to Excellence framework. You will own the training system and drive the strategy in partnership with plant leadership.

The role requires developing curricula, standards, and governance for site training, as well as leading regional T&D initiatives and managing direct reports. Base salary ranges reflect the North American market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent in Business, HR, Engineering, Supply Chain, Management, OD or related or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant training experience, with experience developing curriculum and training materials and facilitating training courses.
• Experience working in a High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) and/or Self Directed Work Team environment.
• Experience in adult learning theory Manufacturing environment experience and understanding of supply chain.
• A strong understanding of TPM or lean manufacturing. Strong team, project/program management & leadership skills, presence and credibility, strong judgment, business instincts and high level of professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the plant leadership team to determine training needs that will drive manufacturing excellence for the facility.
• Design, development, and implementation of the training strategy and program structure that is integrated with the Journey to Excellence (identify site level training losses, define training objectives, develop and deliver training solutions that address employee development needs and business priorities).
• Partner with key leaders in the organization to design and develop (or update) Technician Work System which will be used as a basis across the region.
• Support the Technician Work System by establishing a site level qualification process and providing on-going governance to process.
• Develop and implement training standards and measures that support the vision of self-sufficient teams.
• Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of an on-boarding and early development program and early development for new employees.
• Determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instructions, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops. Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
• Primary support of new technologies as they become available, coordinating and preparing training schedules to accommodate facility needs.
• Evaluate training effectiveness; assess quality and success of program and share feedback to validate effectiveness.
• Control the training expenses and manage expenditures to meet the training needs.
• Manage site or department training leaders.
• Ownership of the Training and Development Systems.
• Lead and develop direct reports.
