Qualifications

• Requires education and experience equivalent to high school graduation and two years maintenance or farming experience preferably associated with the building trades and or operation of heavy equipment and machinery
• Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in the trades and or operation of heavy equipment or farm machinery and implements and or warehousing
• Two (2) years of experience in following written and oral instructions
• One (1) year of experience in informing visitors of site facilities, programs, rules, and regulations
• One (1) year of experience in outdoor recreation
• One (1) year of experience in groundskeeping

Responsibilities

• Under direction, participates in the maintenance and improvements to all site structures, facilities, grounds, trails, waterways, day use areas at Shabbona Lake State Park and its satellite locations
• Participates in site grounds maintenance
• Maintains site vehicles and equipment
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms and shower buildings
• Assists in implementing safety and security programs at the site
• Issue and collects fees for camping permits and licenses
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
