Page G.T.C Peekskill is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee onsite drivers and ensure production goals are met in a safe, compliant environment. The role focuses on staff management, adherence to OSHA standards, and efficient utilization of equipment and yard operations.

Responsibilities include supervising loading/unloading, tracking performance, and coordinating with maintenance. Candidates should have a CDL, supervisory experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Valid Class A CDL required.
  • 3 years equipment operator experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA safety regulations is required.
  • Ability to learn and use management software as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise onsite drivers and maintain a safe, OSHA-compliant work environment.
  • Enforce proper loading, unloading, and tipping procedures.
  • Manage staffing levels and weekly hours to control overtime and capacity.
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching with the Terminal Manager/Dispatcher.
  • Perform DVIR checks and report findings to maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate with maintenance vendors for repairs and equipment service.
  • Ensure PPE, FMCSA, DOT, and customer safety requirements are met.

Shift: Monday-Friday / 6AM - 3:30PM

$75,000 - $95,000 annually (based on experience)

Job purpose

Ensure production requirements are met and the work environment is stable, safe, and healthy. The role of site supervisor is to manage staff, minimize wasted capacity and overtime, manage onsite equipment and meet production goals.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Supervises Onsite Drivers. Running a safe, injury/accident free, equipment damage free workplace, (OSHAcompliant)
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Enforce correct procedures for loading, unloading, and tipping.
  • Manage staff levels and weekly hours to minimize overtime and capacity.
  • Monitor, evaluate, coach, and document employee performance; provide corrective action and performance feedback in partnership with the Terminal Manager / Dispatcher.
  • Daily equipment tracking of units onsite; ensure DVIR compliance from drivers
  • Submit daily yard checks to dispatch, terminal management and maintenance personnel
  • Work alongside crews during freight operations as a working supervisor
  • Inspect OTR trucks for cleanliness and organization and report findings to Terminal Manager / Dispatcher.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel and external repair vendors to transport, track, and retrieve equipment requiring service
  • Knowledgeable and supports Safety throughout worksite collaboratively with Safety Director and/or Safety Team.
  • Ensure employees adherence to PPE, FMCSA, DOT, customer and safety requirements.
  • Determines need and schedules Training for all On‑Site Employees
  • Performs FMCSA required Pre‑ & Post Trip Inspections, and audits equipment onsite
  • Safely refuels vehicle, as necessary.
  • Maintain truck, yard, and office cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintain availability for operational communications with management and crew members outside normal work hours when business needs
Site Specific Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary communication link between customer plants, dispatch/terminal managers, and drivers.
  • Communicate plant outages, breakdowns, delays and other service-impacting issues.
  • Maintain and manage sufficient inventory to support customer operations.
  • Conduct and document yard inspections at least twice daily.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Valid ClassA CDL
  • Proficiency at driving, maneuvering, and positioning CMV in various loading, unloading, and parking scenarios.
  • Successful completion of FMCSA physical requirements for CMV drivers
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug testing; understanding and adherence to the FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • 3 years Equipment Operator Experience
  • Ability to learn/utilize software where necessary.
  • Written and spoken communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Confidence to thrive under pressure, strong leadership skills.
  • Professional demeanor and attitude.
