Job summary

Mexican American Opportunity Foundation is seeking a Site Supervisor to coordinate daily operations at our Child Care/Pre-School Center and Partner Programs in California. The role ensures compliance with licensing, staffing, and program requirements while supporting a safe, nurturing environment for children.

The position requires a California Site Supervisor Permit, a Bachelor’s in a related field, and at least five years of supervisory experience in early childhood education.

Qualifications

  • Valid Child Development Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three (3) Infant/Toddler units required for Infant/Toddler centers.
  • Current Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and Preventive Health Practices certifications.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in an Early Childhood Education setting.

Job description

Overview

Under the direction of the program director and/or designee, assist in the coordination of the daily operations of the Child Care/Pre-School Center and Partnership Programs, enforce program guidelines, implement and maintain an appropriate environment for children and staff, and perform related work as required. This is an on-site position and requires regular presence at the childcare centers or designated facility. Driving may be required for emergencies, meetings, and outreach activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, funding requirements, and MAOF policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and evaluate center staff to support high-quality early childhood education and achievement of program goals.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels, child-to-teacher ratios, and a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children.
  • Monitor curriculum implementation, lesson plans, child assessments, parent conferences, and required program documentation.
  • Build positive relationships with families by providing information on children’s development, facilitating parent meetings, and supporting enrollment activities.
  • Monitor enrollment, attendance, and required reports to ensure accurate program and fiscal documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, nutrition, sanitation, emergency preparedness, and mandated reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing communication with program leadership.
  • Manage center operations, including supplies, equipment, food program compliance, and overall facility cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to support accreditation efforts, program improvements, and other agency initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid Child Development Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile liability insurance.
  • Must successfully meet all health, fingerprinting, criminal background (DOJ, FBI, and CACI), and immunization requirements as a condition of employment.
