Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking a Senior Industrial Technician Supervisor in Baltimore, MD to lead and supervise a team of shift technicians maintaining a complex baggage handling system. The role focuses on hands-on guidance, preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring safety and operational standards are met.

You will coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team, provide technical direction, and ensure customer expectations are satisfied.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, or equivalent combination
• Typically 4–5 years of site supervision experience

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Site Manager.
• Supervises mechanical and electrical subcontractors to ensure adherence to the project schedule.
• Performs complex site surveys to develop base or installation design plans and trains customers to maintain and adjust complex equipment.
• Completes and submits reports covering all job activity.
• Maintains complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc.
• Reviews complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provides guidance to subcontractors.

Job Description

Vanderlande Logistics is searching for a senior industrial technician with the ability to supervise shift technicians supporting the maintenance of a complex baggage handling system in Baltimore, Maryland. The Maintenance Technician Supervisor is also responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of Vanderlande's material handling systems. This role provides hands-on technical guidance, oversees preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensures all work is completed in alignment with operational standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Site Manager.
• Supervises mechanical and electrical subcontractors to ensure they adhere to the project schedule.
• Performs complex site surveys to develop base or installation design plans. Performs training customers to maintain and adjust complex equipment.
• Completes and submits reports covering all job activity.
• Performs in maintaining complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc.
• Performs the review of complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provides continual guidance to subcontractors throughout task duration.

Education

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience

• Broad knowledge on installation of conveyor equipment for baggage handling systems.
• Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of the field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
• Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
• Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
• Typically, 4-5 years of successful experience in site supervision and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
