Vanderlande Logistics LLC at Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) in Baltimore, MD is seeking experienced Mechanical and Controls Technicians for Sr. Technician roles to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test BHS equipment in a fast‑paced environment.

The position requires five+ years of industrial maintenance experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and strong electro‑mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills including 480V systems, VFDs, PLCs, and CMMS usage.

Responsibilities

• Update daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activity schedules.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts for BHS operation.
• Ensure PM and PdM procedures are scheduled and documented.
• Comply with safety requirements and regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

Vanderlande Logistics LLC is seeking experienced Mechanical and Controls Technicians to support our team at Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) in Sr. Technician roles. This position requires advanced technical knowledge and hands‑on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing baggage handling systems and their associated components in a fast‑paced airport environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and testing of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) and associated equipment.
• Provide accurate and timely written reports related to safety, operational, and maintenance activities.
• Interpret equipment and operational data and recommend maintenance schedule or activity adjustments to management.
• Update and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activity schedules.
• Order and maintain an inventory of spare parts necessary for effective BHS operation.
• Ensure all Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) procedures are scheduled, completed, and documented.
• Maintain compliance with all company, airport, and regulatory safety requirements.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, including but not limited to:

• Lifting 50 to 100 pounds

• Walking and standing for extended periods

Experience & Education

• Five (5) or more years of relevant industrial maintenance experience
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required

Technical Skills

• Strong electro‑mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience including:
  • Belts
  • Bearings
  • Pulleys
  • Drives
  • Gearmotors
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience including:
  • 480V three‑phase motors and control circuits
  • Electrical schematic reading and interpretation
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Motor starters

• Working knowledge of PLC systems and operations preferred
• Familiarity with:
  • SCADA systems

• Basic supervisory and leadership skills involving scheduling, organization, communication, and computer systems

• Ability to pass all airport‑required background checks, security screenings, and TSA‑related clearances
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require current or future sponsorship for employment

Competitive Compensation

• Starting pay rate: $34.00 per hour
• Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, and business needs
• $1,000 Sign-On Bonus
