Job summary

Linde plc in Hillsboro, OR seeks a skilled Gas Delivery Systems Technician to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and commission systems and equipment up to 600V. You will read P&IDs, coordinate maintenance, and analyze performance to boost reliability.

The role requires 3+ years in gas production/controls, an associate degree or equivalent training, and proficiency with control/HMI software. On-site work with regular safety practices and on-call rotations is expected.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical equivalent preferred; apprenticeship or certificate-based training accepted.
  • 3+ years in gas production and delivery, instrumentation and controls, and engineering procedure prep/execution.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
  • Ability to operate forklift, overhead crane, and man lift per policy.
  • Read, interpret, and draft P&IDs and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety policies and lone worker standards.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and commission gas delivery systems, industrial instruments, analyzers, PLCs, and electrical equipment up to 600V.
  • Read and maintain P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling, material procurement, lockout/tagout, and contractor work.
  • Analyze process performance and develop projects to improve system availability and reliability.
  • Support ultra-high purity gas delivery and control systems.
  • Engage with customers daily and maintain site access training and certifications.
  • Maintain site security and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and related activities.
  • Use CMMS to execute, document, and improve preventive/corrective maintenance.
  • Collect and analyze equipment and process condition monitoring data.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate needs.
  • Follow work instructions, provide feedback, and identify process improvements.
  • Maintain regular communication with management.
  • Complete required training and meet annual performance goals.
  • Provide support in office and field environments.
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule and overtime as required.
  • Access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment using ladders, scaffolding, and man-lifts.

Job description

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and commission gas delivery systems, industrial instruments, analyzers, PLC systems, and electrical equipment under 600V
  • Read and maintain P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams in compliance with company and customer procedures
  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling, material procurement, lockout/tagout activities, and contractor work
  • Further, you will analyze process performance, understand process loop interactions, and develop projects that improve system availability and reliability
  • Support and maintain ultra-high purity gas delivery and control systems
  • Engage with customers daily and maintain required site access training and certifications
  • Maintain site security and housekeeping standards
  • And you will participate in safety meetings and safety-related activities
  • Use CMMS to execute, document, and improve preventive and corrective maintenance programs
  • Collect and analyze equipment and process condition monitoring data
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate inventory needs
  • Follow work instructions, provide feedback, and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Maintain regular communication with management
  • Complete required training and achieve annual performance goals
  • And you will provide support in office and field environments
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and work overtime, holidays, and after-hours as required
  • Access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment using ladders, scaffolding, and man-lifts
What makes you great
  • You have proven understanding of control, instrumentation, and electrical systems in an industrial environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot 4-20mA transmitters, electro-pneumatic control loops, and industrial control components, including solenoid valves, actuators, regulators, and PID controllers
  • Associate degree from a technical school preferred; equivalent apprenticeship or certificate-based training accepted
  • You have at least three (3+) years of experience in gas production and delivery, instrumentation and controls, and engineering procedure preparation and execution
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industrial standards and codes
  • Ability to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and man lift in accordance with company policy
  • Experience with Microsoft, Wonderware, Rockwell, and other controls/HMI software
  • You have ability to read, interpret, and draft P&IDs and electrical drawings
