Job summary

Linde plc in Appleton, WI, seeks a seasoned maintenance technician to safely maintain, service, and occasionally install cryogenic supply systems (N2, Ar, O2, CO₂, H2). Expect fieldwork across diverse industries with documentation in CMMS and adherence to safety standards.

Requirements include 5+ years in mechanical/rotating systems, experience with piping, pumps, PLCs, regulators, and heat exchangers, plus strong computer, communication, and documentation skills. Valid driving record required.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience maintaining mechanical and rotating systems in an industrial setting.
• Experience in installation, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of piping systems, pumps, PLCs, regulators, and heat exchangers.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methods for industrial equipment.
• Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Excel; comfortable with data entry devices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with ability to work independently and lead or participate in teams.
• Good documentation and record-keeping, with familiarity with CMMS.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and codes; clean driving record for service vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, and install/remove bulk cryogenic supply systems (nitrogen, argon, oxygen, CO2, hydrogen).
• Support and maintain systems across medical gas, biomedical research, manufacturing, food production, and water treatment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance per Linde standards and NFPA/CGA guidelines.
• Document all maintenance activities in CMMS and uphold customer service standards.
• Work outdoors in all weather, access elevated equipment safely, and use ladders/scaffolding/hoists.
• Operate as an independent technician, escalating safety concerns when needed.
• Respond to service calls during business hours and participate in after-hours on-call support.
• Promote safety-focused operations and adherence to established procedures.

Job description

• You will safely maintain, service, and occasionally install or remove bulk liquid and gaseous cryogenic supply systems, including nitrogen, argon, oxygen, CO₂, and hydrogen systems
• Support and maintain supply systems across multiple industries, including medical gas supply, biomedical research, manufacturing, food production, and water treatment
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned systems in accordance with Linde standards, NFPA and CGA guidelines

• Further, accurately document all maintenance activities in a computerized maintenance management system while upholding Linde’s customer service standards
• Conduct fieldwork primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including safely accessing elevated equipment using ladders, scaffolding, man lifts, and crane baskets
• Work independently to make sound technical decisions and elevate issues as needed to ensure safety and equipment integrity
• Also, respond to service calls during business hours and participate in an on-call availability for after-hours support
• Also, contribute to a disciplined, safety-focused work environment by following established procedures and promoting operational excellence

What makes you great

• You will bring a minimum of five years of experience maintaining mechanical and rotating systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, inspection, and repairs of piping systems, pumps, PLC’s, forward and back pressure regulators, and heat exchangers.
• Apply knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methods for industrial mechanical and production equipment.
• Moreover, be skilled in computer proficiency including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, smartphones, tablets, and handheld data entry devices.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and team interaction skills with the ability to work independently and effectively lead or participate in teams.
• Show strong documentation and record keeping capabilities along with proficiency in computers, standard software packages, and the computerized maintenance management system.
• You are knowledgeable in regulatory and industrial standards and codes, which are considered a valuable asset.
• Be capable of safely operating a service vehicle and have a clean driving record, along with the discipline to continue safe operation.
