Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking an experienced Safety Manager I for a project in Austin, Texas. You will manage the site safety program and implement health and safety standards to ensure a safe, compliant work environment.

Responsibilities include leading safety trainings, incident reporting, and coordinating with clients, trade partners, and staff. The role requires 10+ years of construction safety management and CSP or equivalent credential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety preferred or an associate's with progress toward a bachelor’s
• Authorized OSHA 500 trainer
• CPR and First Aid certified
• CMAR and preconstruction experience preferred
• Experience with asphalt laydown operations and asphalt plant operations preferred
• Good organizer, meticulous, and effective public speaker
• Bilingual in Spanish highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Implement the Safety & Health Program on the project and manage the EHS system
• Communicate with clients, management, supervisors, employees, and trade partners
• Attend preconstruction meetings and review safety submittals
• Build relationships with project staff, safety reps, and vendors
• Create and maintain safety incident reports and investigation docs
• Provide safety training sessions aligned with project scopes
• Lead safety communications through bulletins, PowerPoints, and site plans
• Manage incidents per the company severity matrix
• Conduct monthly safety data analysis and share trends with project staff
• Maintain strong field presence and participate in incident analysis and permit processes
• Notify area management of OSHA visits or complaints promptly
• Perform other duties as assigned
