Job summary

Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to support a Fort Meade data center project, driving a culture of safety and ensuring compliance across all trades on site. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to act decisively to protect workers on a high-profile development.

Qualifications

• EM 385 1-1 40 hour training required.
• Board Certified Safety Professional and CHST or CSP credentials mandatory.
• Previous NAVFAC project experience required.
• 5+ years hands-on construction safety experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Champion Safety Culture: prepare and enforce health and safety policies on site.
• Lead Safety Programs: design and implement safety programs, plans, and JHAs.
• Monitor & Report: track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates.
• Identify & Solve Hazards: spot risks early and implement preventive measures.
• Drive Engagement: lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
• Stay Present & Involved: maintain regular on-site presence and participate in project meetings.
• Ensure Compliance: verify work follows manuals, procedures, and contract requirements.
• Maintain Documentation: keep accurate logs of inspections and safety correspondence.
• Oversee Site Activity: supervise subcontractors to meet EHS requirements.
• Investigate & Improve: conduct investigations for accidents and near misses; implement corrective actions.
• Enforce Standards: ensure proper PPE use and safety procedures on site.
