Job summary

Lexicon, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to partner with site management under the Site Safety Director to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

The role requires auditing job sites for OSHA compliance, maintaining safety records, and supporting investigations of injuries and incidents. You will lead safety orientations and trainings, conduct substance abuse screens, and ensure attendance and overtime readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' Safety experience and/or 5 years' construction experience.
• Current Red Cross approved First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Must have excellent oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
• Current driver's license with excellent driving history is required.

Responsibilities

• Audit the job site to ensure safe work performance and compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Maintain records as required by OSHA and company policy.
• Assist the Corporate Safety Director as needed in the investigation of job related injuries and accidents. Complete required incident investigation reports and assist claims personnel with claim resolution.
• Provide first aid to employees for work related injuries.
• Conduct substance abuse screens in compliance with company policy.
• Perform safety orientations and weekly safety meetings to ensure compliance. Performs various types of safety related training.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Physical Demands

Overtime, weekend work, odd hours, and overnight travel as required. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, ironwork and scaffolding to heights 200 feet. Ability to walk in excess of five miles per day. Must be able to lift, push, and pull 100 pounds occasionally and carry 25 pounds frequently. Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations and a dusty, loud environment. Must be able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields. Must be able to respond to emergency situations and medical trauma in a calm, controlled manner. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
