Job summary

Pico is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Team Lead to guide the APAC SRE group and ensure customer success with Redline products. This role is customer-focused, working with development and production teams to solve problems and optimize service delivery.

The position requires leadership in a hybrid environment, coordination with server and network teams, and a focus on automation and tooling improvements to enhance reliability and incident response across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering discipline ie. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or MIS.
• Operational leadership experience as a team leader.
• Experience with financial services front office systems, tickerplants, order execution tech.
• Strong understanding of Linux and Linux performance tuning.
• Solid experience with Intel-based architecture and IT networking.
• Experience with programming and scripting; Python, C/C++ or Java a plus.
• Excellent customer service attitude and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Task- and result-oriented with strong work ethics and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to production issues and provide workarounds.
• Replicate customer issues and verify fixes for patches and releases.
• Manage production environment: software upgrades, routine changes, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with development engineers to resolve customer requests promptly.
• Coordinate with Pico server and network teams for troubleshooting and change management.
• Elevate Redline managed practice through automation and tooling improvements.

Purpose of the role

Pico is searching for a (Redline) Site Reliability Engineer Team Lead. This is a customer-facing group engaged with our customers, development and production teams to ensure customer success with implementing Redline products. This role will lead the regional APAC SRE team.

Responsibilities and duties

• Leadership and team management: The role requires leading a distributed group of SRE engineers across APAC, managing their schedules and responsibilities, and acting as a player-manager within the SRE department.
• Assist clients in solving problems and maximizing the value of Redline products and services within their enterprise.
• Respond promptly to production issues, provide workarounds whenever possible.
• Replicate customer issues and verify fixes for customer patches and releases.
• Manage production environment:
  • Software upgrade
  • Routine changes
  • Proactive monitoring
  • Performance tuning of applications
  • Assess impact of exchange-driven initiatives and participate in relevant weekend testing
• Work closely with development engineers to promptly resolve customer requests.
• Work closely with Pico server and network teams for issue troubleshooting and change management.
• Elevate Redline managed practice and ensure customer success by:
  • Putting in place the necessary automation and scripting.
  • Continuous improvement of tools (monitoring, inventory, runbooks.)

Education, Skills and background (incl. Education and Experience Requirements)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering discipline ie. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or Management Information Systems.
• Prior experience working in a operational environment, as a team leader.
• Experience with financial services front office systems, market data tickerplants, order execution technology and the global exchange technology landscape.
• Strong understanding of Linux and linux performance tuning.
• Solid experience with Intel based computer architecture and IT systems networking
• Experience with programming and scripting, knowledge of Python, C/C++ or Java is a plus.
• Excellent customer service attitude and interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Task and result oriented with strong work ethics and values.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to any given situation.

Working Arrangements

This is a Hybrid based position with weekly time in the office with the flexibility of working from home. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC). For continuity of service, working early or late shifts, bank holidays and infrequent weekend tests will be required.

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and relevant certification.

New York Pay range

$170,000—$190,000 USD
