Job summary

Pico in New York seeks a senior network security & architecture engineer to translate business requirements into scalable designs, deploy low-latency networks, and lead complex change control across multiple geographies. Hybrid work with occasional travel supports a global trading infrastructure.

You will work with Fortinet, Arista, and Cisco hardware, CCIE/JNCIE level certification, and scripting in Bash or Python to automate deployments. Strong communication and self-motivation are essential.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience with Fortinet, Arista, and/or Cisco hardware and software.
  • CCIE or JNCIE certification or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP).
  • Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Multicast Routing (IGMP, PIM).
  • NAT (Static, Dynamic).
  • Network Sniffers (TCP/IP Analysis).
  • NTP, PTP and Network Timing.
  • Ability to analyse and diagnose problems and lead system recovery effectively.
  • Clear verbal and written communicator.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Capable of working with little supervision.
  • Creative thinker without off the box ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into architecture.
  • Convert availability, performance, and regulatory needs into technical designs.
  • Create HLDs depicting Logical Architecture and Traffic flow.
  • Define design principles with focus on scalability, resilience, simplicity and standardization.
  • Strategize on methods to improve overall network infrastructure with a low-latency profile.
  • Design and deploy customer networks with automation, security, and operability as focus.
  • Evaluate vendors, platforms, and protocols for long-term fit.
  • Support internal and external customer facing issues as a point of escalation.
  • Generate, Follow Up, and Complete tickets for internal projects and customers.
  • Construct valid configurations for implementation based upon design and/or technical concepts.
  • Implementcriticalconfiguration changesas required through established change control processes and systems with little to no guidance.
  • Participate in daily meetings to review changes and underlying impacts.

Working Arrangements

This is a Hybrid position with weekly time in the office with the flexibility of working from home. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and relevant certification.

New York Pay range

$190,000 - $210,000 USD
