Job summary

1872 AI is transforming industrial manufacturing in the United States by building AI-native factories from CAD to finished parts with minimal human input. This on-site Cincinnati role owns the factory infrastructure, including cloud, edge, and the networks, and ensures systems remain available, secure, and fast.

You will architect zero-trust environments, manage Kubernetes workloads across AWS/GCP and on-prem edge servers, and shape security with identity management and monitoring dashboards for

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software you owned end-to-end.
• Expert in Kubernetes with cloud and edge workloads.
• Experience with Terraform, OpenTofu or Pulumi.
• Strong VLANs, VPNs, firewalls and secure industrial networks.
• Experience with zero-trust, identity management and secure tunnels.
• Experience with monitoring tools and dashboards for visibility.
• Able to self-direct in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the infrastructure that powers our factories—cloud, edge, and the networks.
• Keep systems available, secure, and fast; architect zero-trust environments.
• Manage Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and security across environments.
• Support on-site network tasks with VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls as needed.
• Develop monitoring dashboards to give teams health visibility.
