Job summary

1872 AI is transforming manufacturing by building AI-native factories that automate from CAD to finished parts with minimal human input. You will build the core platform powering factory execution, shop-floor interfaces, and customer portals.

You’ll work full-stack, with AI-assisted development, deploy the infrastructure, and ship features quickly while maintaining quality on a fast-paced shop floor. This on-site Cincinnati role offers equity, unlimited PTO, parental leave, and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Proficiency building and maintaining distributed systems with scalable backends in Go or Python and frontends in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and orchestration platforms to ship features quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Strong grasp of SQL, data modeling, and storage like S3 or GCS with Kafka for durable queues.
• Familiarity with Temporal or Airflow and modeling processes as state machines.
• Ability to self-direct in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Build core software platform powering factory execution, shop-floor interfaces, and customer portals.
• Develop full-stack features from backend services and orchestration to frontend UIs and hardware integration.
• Lead end-to-end ownership: code, deploy infrastructure, and debug on the factory floor.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to ship features faster while maintaining quality.
