About the Opportunity: Aberdeen Advisors is seeking a skilled Site Reliability & Performance Engineer to join our team supporting a leading healthcare organization’s product engineering initiative. This dual-focused role combines SRE expertise with performance engineering to ensure maximum reliability, scalability, and efficiency of vital clinical applications. You’ll work with home-grown .NET applications running in both Azure cloud and on-premises environments, implementing monitoring solutions, automating processes, and optimizing system performance. Your work will directly impact healthcare delivery by ensuring clinical applications perform flawlessly when healthcare providers need them most.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system health and minimize downtime.
2. Design and deploy automation to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) for critical clinical applications.
3. Lead the selection and implementation of SRE tools and create insightful dashboards.
4. Build tooling and automation for performance testing in non-production environments.
5. Configure, troubleshoot, and tune auto-scaling mechanisms for applications in both cloud and on-premises environments.
6. Implement both predictive and horizontal scaling strategies to optimize application performance.
7. Collaborate with development teams to establish reliability standards and performance metrics.
8. Conduct performance analysis to identify bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies.
9. Create and maintain documentation for reliability and performance processes.
10. Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support critical systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Performance Engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring tools and observability platforms (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
• Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python).
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of .NET application architecture and performance characteristics.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting auto-scaling solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and systematic troubleshooting approach.
• Excellent communication abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with healthcare applications or other mission-critical systems.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, LoadRunner).
• Understanding of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST).
