Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a Quality Program Manager to lead the site quality program, drive adherence to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, and partner with manufacturing, R&D and quality teams to strengthen the quality culture. You will guide audits, improve processes, and ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and compliance.

This role reports to the Global Quality Director and requires a strong background in chemical manufacturing quality and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in manufacturing with strong product quality experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 2015; cGMP/Halal/Kosher; IATF 16949 trained is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive quality program at site with best practices.
• Align quality program with business/customer goals and strategic quality initiatives.
• Implement critical quality metrics to meet site KPIs and customer quality.
• Lead external, customer, and regulatory audits of the sites.
• Drive product quality improvements and manage product return processes.
• Educate production and maintenance teams on quality issues and foster a strong quality culture.
• Investigate customer complaints and waivers to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Lead SPC/quality control charting for all products and coordinate actions.
• Direct product disposition and suspension of production if needed due to quality concerns.
• Ensure adherence to safety rules and promote plant safety.
• Work with plant leadership to enforce controls compliant with IATF 16949 2016.
• Participate in process improvement teams to align with quality programs.
