Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan invites applications for the Site Project Controls Lead position in Bagdad, AZ. The role leads project controls across multiple plant projects, driving cost control, forecasting, and schedule performance with a focus on standardized practices and risk mitigation.

You will mentor Cost Leads/Engineers and Schedulers, ensure timely reporting per SOPs, and collaborate with Contracts on change management. Relevant ERP experience and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business related field
• Eight years of project controls or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
• Experience with ERP systems SAP and Primavera P6
• Understanding of Accounting functions and systems

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee project controls across multiple plant engineering projects
• Develop, implement, and manage cost estimating, cost control, forecasting and reporting processes
• Provide leadership to Cost Leads/Engineers, Schedulers/Planners, and Quantity Surveyors
• Ensure accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly project controls reports per SOPs
• Manage Change Order/PCN Log and Change Management System with Contracts group
• Maintain schedule baselines and coordinate with schedulers; develop recovery strategies
• Validate and process project estimates, DOA, and procurement-related budgets
• Develop and maintain WBS codes for project control and reporting
• Perform other duties as required
