Job summary

Brandt Excavating LLC in Martell, NE is seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Operator to support safe, efficient progress on excavation and site development projects. This role operates graders, tractors, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks and skid steers to prepare sites and perform earthwork.

Preferred candidates have at least one year of hands-on experience, a solid safety record, and the ability to read site instructions and follow guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience operating heavy equipment in excavation or construction.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.
• Working knowledge of equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to read safety procedures and site instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operates graders and tractors for leveling and loading materials.
• Operates backhoes and front-end loaders for excavation and material handling.
• Operates skid steer loaders to transport and place materials.
• Performs general site preparation and related tasks with various equipment.
• Conducts routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Promotes safety practices and proper care of equipment and supplies.
• May assist in training or guiding other team members as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
