Job summary

Brandt Excavating is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Martell, NE (15 miles southwest of Lincoln) to support safe, efficient progress on excavation and site development projects. You will operate graders, tractors, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, and skid steers to prepare sites and perform earthwork.

You must have at least one year of experience, demonstrate safe operation, read and follow safety guidelines, and be able to use hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience operating heavy equipment in excavation, construction, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.
• Reading and following safety procedures, operational guidelines and site instructions.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the job.

Responsibilities

• Operates graders for leveling and tractors for loading materials such as dirt, rock, and debris.
• Operates backhoes and front‑end loaders as required for excavation, loading, and material handling.
• Operates skid steer loaders to transport and place materials.
• Performs general site preparation and related operational assignments using various heavy equipment.
• Conducts routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Ensure proper care, safe operation, and maintenance of equipment and supplies; actively promote continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.
• May assist in training or guiding other team members depending on operational needs.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
