Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks an Operations Lead to serve as on-site incident commander during emergencies and to oversee production operations, including off-shifts and holidays. You will drive safety and performance while coordinating with EHS, Engineering, and other teams.

You’ll lead process improvements, manage daily operations, and supervise Production Associates, shaping growth initiatives and cross-functional collaboration across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience with direct leadership of operational teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis software is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to lead meetings, present shift reports, and draft SOPs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact and Incident Commander during EH&S emergencies; coordinate communications.
• Lead day-to-day facility operations, monitor performance trends, and resolve issues with cross-functional teams.
• Oversee emergency maintenance activities, ensuring resources and rapid response to minimize downtime.
• Identify and support process improvements across manufacturing to boost efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Operations, EHS, and Engineering on goals, capital projects, and training.
• Foster relationships across teams to promote safety and high performance.
