Job summary

Ingredion is seeking a Shift Lead in Indianapolis to provide leadership for off-shift, weekend, and holiday plant operations. You will serve as the primary site contact, ensuring safe, productive performance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Maintenance.

The ideal candidate holds a chemical engineering degree with at least 3 years in manufacturing, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work rotating schedules and overtime as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience, including leadership of teams or coordinating activities.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing with operational decision-making responsibilities.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead meetings and SOPs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with a focus on safety and performance.
• Availability to work off-shifts, weekends, holidays, rotating schedules, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary plant contact during off-shift, weekend, and holiday operations.
• Act as Incident Commander during EHS emergencies and coordinate responses.
• Provide first-responder support within training and qualification requirements.
• Coordinate emergency maintenance and allocate resources to minimize disruptions.
• Monitor plant operations and identify performance gaps or trends needing intervention.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and EHS to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, reliability, quality, and cost.
• Support training, communication, and capital projects; promote continuous improvement.
• Drive employee engagement and visibility on the production floor; lead shift teams.
• Promote effective cross-shift communication and collaboration.
