Job summary

OPmobility is seeking a SITE MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING INTERN to support the Plastic Injection Department with process improvements and data-driven analyses. You will assist with installation, startup, validation of new injection molding machines, and collaboration across manufacturing, maintenance, and quality teams.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a engineering degree (mech/manu/industrial/mechatronics) with strong Excel and data-analysis skills, capable of reading drawings, and eager to work on

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Junior or Senior standing preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis techniques.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing processes and industrial equipment.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and on production floor.

Responsibilities

• Support the Plastic Injection Department in driving process improvements and efficiency.
• Assist with specification, installation, startup, and validation of new injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, tooling, automation, quality and production teams for equipment integration.
• Support CI projects by analyzing production data to identify cycle time, scrap, stability, energy, and OEE improvements.
• Plan, install, and startup new injection molding machines, robots, and material handling systems, including layout reviews.
• Coordinate equipment commissioning, milestone tracking, action item documentation, and safe project launches.
• Develop and validate processes for new equipment, including trials, parameter optimization, and documentation.
