Job summary

OPmobility is offering an on-site SITE MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING INTERN role in a global mobility group. You will support the Plastics Injection Department, drive process improvements, and assist with new equipment installation and validation on the production floor.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a technical degree, has strong Excel and data skills, and can read engineering drawings while collaborating with engineers, technicians and operators on multiple projects. Fall 2026 hiring.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
• Junior or Senior standing preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis techniques.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team with operators, technicians, engineers and managers.
• Willingness to spend significant time on the production floor in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Plastic Injection Department to improve process efficiency through data-driven analysis.
• Assist with spec, startup, and validation of new injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, tooling, automation, quality and production teams for integration and training.
• Support continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing production data to reduce cycle time and scrap.
• Plan, install, and startup new injection molding machines, robots, material handling systems, and related equipment.
• Coordinate commissioning activities, track milestones, and document action items for timely launches.
• Develop and validate processes for newly installed equipment, including trials and capability studies.
• Create and maintain engineering docs: SOPs, specs, drawings, checklists, and training materials.
• Other related activities as assigned.
