Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems.

Site Manager
Position Summary

The Site Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and daily operations of an assigned manufacturing facility. This position oversees production, quality, safety, maintenance, warehouse, shipping, inventory, and facility operations while ensuring the site operates efficiently, safely, and profitably.

The Site Manager develops and leads a high-performing team, drives continuous improvement initiatives, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners with executive leadership to achieve company goals while delivering exceptional service to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Direct and oversee all daily manufacturing operations for the assigned facility.
  • Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitor plant performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, downtime, scrap, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve plant performance.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation to meet production demands.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and department managers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives.
  • Promote open communication and employee engagement throughout the facility.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Promote a culture where safety is the highest priority.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Lead safety meetings, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure employees receive required safety training.
  • Monitor housekeeping and environmental compliance throughout the facility.
Quality
  • Partner with the Quality Manager to maintain compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Ensure products consistently meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of quality throughout all departments.
Financial & Operational Performance
  • Manage the site's operating budget and control expenses.
  • Monitor labor utilization, material consumption, and production costs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Support capital improvement projects and equipment investments.
  • Analyze operational data and prepare performance reports for executive leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, and Finance to support business objectives.
  • Ensure customer orders are produced and shipped on time.
  • Support inventory accuracy and effective production planning.
  • Coordinate responses to customer concerns, production challenges, and operational priorities.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Improve production processes, workflow efficiency, and equipment utilization.
  • Reduce downtime, scrap, and operational waste.
  • Encourage employee involvement in process improvement efforts.
General Responsibilities
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Seven or more years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Three or more years of plant, site, or operations management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, quality systems, inventory management, and safety programs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the adhesives, chemical, coatings, polymers, or industrial manufacturing industry.
  • Experience managing ISO 9001-certified operations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, SalesPad, or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience overseeing multiple departments, including Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, Shipping, and Quality.
Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

  • Walk throughout office, warehouse, laboratory, and manufacturing areas daily.
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in production areas.
  • Travel occasionally between company locations or to customer and vendor sites.
