Job description

The company designs and delivers turnkey process systems for the pharma industry. As they are scaling their U.S. organization, this role owns the moment our equipment comes to life at customer sites—ensuring every installation, commissioning, and handover meets the uncompromising standards of global pharma. You will turn European-engineered excellence into operational reality for the largest vaccine and API manufacturers.

Performance Objectives

• Deliver 8–12 site installations annually on schedule and within budget, achieving first-time customer SAT sign-off and zero recordable safety incidents.
• Orchestrate cross-functional teams (mechanical, automation, quality) from European production through U.S. site execution, closing punch lists in under 10 days.
• Drive commissioning of bioreactors, process skids, CIP/SIP, and GMP washers to full GMP-ready status, including IQ/OQ documentation that passes customer and FDA audits.
• Build and execute project plans that reduce typical on-site duration by 15% through pre-FAT alignment and logistics mastery.
• Train customer operators and establish preventive-maintenance baselines that achieve 98%+ uptime in the first 12 months post-handover.
• Serve as the single point of accountability for HSE on large projects, implementing Brinox protocols that exceed OSHA and customer requirements.

Environment & Resources

You report to the U.S. General Manager and work with a tight-knit Charlotte-based team plus global engineering in Europe. Full project budget authority, dedicated field technicians, and the company's in-house automation resources. Travel up to 70% (2–3- week international trips 2–3 times per year). Remote-friendly with Charlotte office access.

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years leading installation and commissioning of pharma/biopharma process equipment or similar GMP systems.
• Proven track record delivering complex mechanical/electrical/automation projects on time in regulated environments.
• Hands-on fluency with P&IDs, PLC/HMI systems, and GMP documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Ability to act as on-site HSE lead and communicate clearly with C-level customers and European engineering teams.
• Valid passport, driver’s license, and willingness to travel extensively from an Eastern U.S. base near a major airport.
