Job description

Field Site Manager – Process Systems / Industrial Projects

Location: Charlotte, NC region preferred

Type: Full-Time | Approximately 75% travel | Hybrid when not travelling

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 + bonus

The Opportunity:

True Red Recruitment is working with an established international engineering and process systems business that is continuing to build its U.S. operation.

We're looking for a Field Site Manager to take responsibility for coordinating installation and commissioning activities at customer sites across North America.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a construction, engineering or industrial project background who enjoys being hands-on, working with people and keeping projects moving.

You don't necessarily need a pharmaceutical background.

Experience in power generation, industrial construction, manufacturing, energy, data centres, semiconductor, chemical, pharmaceutical or other highly regulated/technical environments could all be relevant.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors and site teams to make sure work is properly planned, coordinated and delivered safely, to the required quality and schedule.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Preparing and coordinating site activities ahead of installation and commissioning
  • Working closely with Project Managers and overseas engineering teams
  • Coordinating installation, assembly, commissioning and qualification activities
  • Supervising subcontractors and site personnel
  • Ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality
  • Coordinating materials, equipment and resources on site
  • Inspecting deliveries and ensuring equipment is stored correctly
  • Working directly with customer project teams and site representatives
  • Helping resolve technical, scheduling and resource issues
  • Supporting site safety and ensuring procedures and standards are followed
  • Identifying and helping resolve non-conformances
  • Providing basic training and instruction to customers and team members
  • Getting hands-on when required on smaller projects
  • Supporting the continued development of the U.S. service team

You'll have significant responsibility on site, but you'll also have strong support from an experienced international team.

What We're Looking For:

We're particularly interested in people who have 5+ years' experience working on large or technically complex construction/industrial projects.

Your industry background could include:

Pharmaceutical / Biotech | Power Generation | Energy | Industrial | Manufacturing | Semiconductor | Data Centres | Chemical | Process Engineering | Advanced Manufacturing

The key is your ability to coordinate people, understand technical requirements and keep site activities moving.

You’ll need:
  • Strong construction, engineering or industrial project experience
  • Experience working on a large or complex construction/site environment
  • Good organisational and coordination skills
  • The confidence to work with customers, subcontractors and internal teams
  • The ability to understand technical specifications and project requirements
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to stay calm and make decisions when priorities change
  • Strong communication and team-working skills
  • A willingness to travel extensively – approximately 80% across North America
  • A willingness to travel to Europe 2–3 times per year for training and collaboration

A background in a highly regulated environment is advantageous, but pharmaceutical experience is not essential.

International Training

You’ll receive comprehensive training on systems and processes at their European headquarters before taking on your U.S. assignments.

What's On Offer?
  • $130,000–$160,000 base salary + bonus
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • PTO
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing training
  • Hybrid working when you're not travelling
  • Home-office support
  • Relocation assistance may be available
  • International training and exposure
  • The opportunity to join an expanding U.S. operation at an early stage
  • Significant autonomy with support from an experienced global team
  • Clear opportunity to build and eventually lead your own team
  • Potential progression into a Service Manager position within 1–2 years
Why This Role?

This isn't simply another site-based position.

You'll be joining the U.S. operation at an important stage of its growth and will have the opportunity to help shape how projects are delivered, build relationships with customers and ultimately help develop the company's U.S. service capability.

If you're an experienced Project Coordinator, Assistant PM, Project Manager, Site Manager or Field Engineer looking for a role with more responsibility, international exposure and a genuine route into leadership, we'd like to hear from you.
