Job summary

Procon, Inc. is seeking an experienced labor lead to work on construction sites in Staunton, VA. The role requires you to follow directions, maintain safety, and manage PPE and tools while guiding crew members.

The candidate must have OSHA 30, 3 years of senior carpentry experience, and the ability to read plans as well as communicate in English and Spanish. Physical demands include lifting up to 100 lbs and sustained manual work on site.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• 3 years of senior carpentry experience is required.
• The ability to speak, read and understand English as well as the ability to speak and understand Spanish is required.
• The ability to read and understand basic plans/drawings is required.
• Low level computer/technology skills are required.
• Moderate leadership skills are required.
• Duties described may change and other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with superintendent on job site to perform each task safely, efficiently, on time, and under budget.
• Review and check plans and specs for inaccuracies and needed corrections.
• Recognize and correct unsafe conditions and items throughout the work site.
• Organize tools and materials needed for the current day s work and plan ahead for coming tasks; load and unload trucks as required.
• Operate and inspect hand and power tools safely and correctly.
• Direct simple excavating operations using shovels and picks.
• Signal or communicate with equipment operators to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Direct installation of rebar and forms as required and ensure accuracy.
• Assist with placement and finishing of concrete and scaffold construction.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized jobsite to prevent hazards.
• Coordinate with superintendent and communicate daily schedules.
