Job summary

GHD is seeking an One Site Environmental Field Engineer to join the Contamination Assessment & Remediation team based near Springfield, Ohio, for an estimated three-year project. The role involves onsite coordination and implementation of environmental solutions for remediation of a CERCLA site and related investigations.

Qualifications

• HAZWOPER with Level B Experience.
• Graduate of a relevant Associates or Bachelor of Geology, Biology, Environmental Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent program.
• 3–5 years of experience in the environmental and construction field.
• Must be flexible with project types and responsibilities and willing to relocate to the Springfield, Ohio Area.
• Collaborate effectively with remote team members on various project aspects.
• Must have strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and meet deadlines.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills to explain technical information to multiple audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist in field preparation of project-related technical documents including environmental summary reports, technical specifications, waste tracking, and as-builts.
• Coordinate with field personnel involved in environmental construction, OM& M, and remediation activities (soil, groundwater, surface water, wastewater sampling, excavation, vapor sampling).
• Follow HSE policies to identify and mitigate risks.
• Prepare technical reports to inform proposals, budgets, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify patterns of risky behavior and escalate as appropriate.
