Job summary

GHD’s Construction group is hiring an Environmental Construction Superintendent to oversee field work on environmental remediation and heavy civil projects across the United States, with a preference for western Ohio.

You will lead onsite crews, ensure safety, schedule, quality, and budget compliance, and coordinate with subcontractors and clients to keep projects on track. This role offers travel and relocation flexibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of supervisor-level experience with exposure to environmental remediation, heavy civil, demolition, mining, dredging/waterway, or general contracting.
• Ability to review project schedules and direct field activities.
• Ability to lead a team of crafts and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of project contracts, specifications, and drawings.
• Proficiency in scheduling and cost control.
• Strong writing skills to document activities.
• Ability to communicate with clients and subcontractors and coordinate with other departments.
• Must safely operate equipment and qualify personnel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site Health & Safety to enforce safety plans and rules.
• Review hazards; participate in Job Hazard Analysis and incident reporting.
• Perform pre-task planning and coordinate field activities.
• Lead performance and productivity of crafts and subcontractors.
• Ensure accurate timecards reflect hours and tasks.
• Advise project management on scope changes and issues.
• Assist in planning schedules, workforce levels, and material quantities.
• Assist with selection and hiring of craft personnel.
• Mentor direct reports and subcontractors.
• Utilize cost control systems to improve job performance.
• Uphold GHD’s Safety Culture onsite.
• Perform additional assignments as needed.
