Job summary

H.B. Fuller is consolidating multiple sites into a single Charlotte facility.

The Site EHS Manager will travel up to 50% initially to support three facilities and learn the business before transitioning into Charlotte to build the EHS program from the ground up. The role focuses on implementing corporate EHS policies, managing permits, leading audits and incident investigations, and developing training to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety/environmental or related field.
  • 7–10+ years in an EHS focused role in a chemical processing environment.
  • 5+ years managing OSHA, EPA, NFPA & PSM regulations.
  • 2+ years project management experience.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with MS Office and EHS reporting systems.
  • Proven leadership and training abilities.
  • Experience leading in-house EHS training programs.
  • Experience conducting accident investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Adopt and implement EHS policies with focus on High-Risk Operations (HRO).
  • Develop and execute EHS training programs to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and internal requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate and mitigate safety, health and environmental risks.
  • Implement and maintain EHS programs, tools, and systems.
  • Tailor corporate environmental programs to local facility needs.
  • Manage permit requirements and update environmental programs.
  • Ensure employees have tools and resources to work safely.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Design audits to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
  • Manage hazardous and special waste handling and storage.
  • Ensure emergency response capabilities and preparedness.
  • Communicate EHS goals and progress across the site.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and mentor the EHS committee.
  • Provide sustainability data and support program goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement across EHS programs.
