Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Manager, Operational EHS (Site Leader) to serve as the primary EHS expert and operational leader for the Wilmington site fixed facilities. You will guide daily EHS activities, ensure compliance, and champion a strong safety culture within a complex manufacturing environment.

The role involves managing a medium-to-large team, influencing budgets and safety policies, and leading cross-functional initiatives to improve site processes while maintaining high safety

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited university; OR a high school diploma/GED with 5–10 years of progressive experience in EHS or related operational functions.
• Site-Specific Expertise: extensive experience with fixed facilities.
• Technical Insight: proficiency applying complex engineering or manufacturing safety techniques to high-risk environments.
• Leadership Track Record: proven experience managing, developing, and retaining teams of professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Site EHS Ownership: act as the primary onsite EHS authority for environmental, health and safety activities.
• Team Leadership & Talent Development: lead and mentor a medium-to-large EHS team with performance management.
• Operational Integration: collaborate with production and facility managers to solve EHS challenges.
• Strategic Compliance & Risk Management: interpret policies and regulatory requirements; lead risk mitigation projects.
• Cross-Functional Influence: liaison between EHS and other facility functions; negotiate safety priorities.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: analyze site data to prevent incidents and improve performance.
