Job summary

The EHS Leader at the Attica site, reporting to the Attica Plant Manager, will develop, execute, and sustain the site’s strategic and tactical plan for Environmental, Health, Safety and Security. This role drives continuous improvement and serves as a key member of the Site Leadership Team.

You will lead the EHS organization, provide technical expertise, ensure regulatory compliance (EPA, Indiana, local), manage the budget, implement MOC, conduct incident investigations, training, audits, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Environment, Chemical or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an EHS professional, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in both Environmental and Safety roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of State and Federal air, water, and waste regulations.
• Ability to work in multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization
• Ability to lead and influence project teams.
• Ability to positively influence hourly and salaried associates
• Must be able to effectively recognize the need for and be able to lead positive change.
• Must have a strong track record of delivering results.
• Must have the ability to lead and make decisions in stressful situations.
• Must be willing to support community outreach and communication programs as necessary.
• Must be available to come in to plant at any time of the day or night.
• 10 – 15% travel may be expected.

Responsibilities

• Set tactical and strategic direction and provide leadership for the EHS department.
• Actively participate on the Site Leadership Team, providing unbiased feedback and direction for the site.
• Develop and lead a site sustainability initiative.
• Establishes and continually refines the plant’s long term EHS strategy and improvement plan.
• Reviews all EHS capital expense requests for risk, cost, and prioritization within the overall plan and budget.
• Provide oversight and management of all site EHS related action items.
