At Lilac Learning Center, we don’t just run a school — we run a lifeline for students and families navigating the world of autism and severe behavior. We’re looking for a Site Director who can balance big-picture leadership with on-the-ground compassion. Someone who can oversee complex programming, mentor and grow a team, and still laugh with us on a tough day.
This is not your average “sit in the office and push papers” director job. You’ll be in the mix — with staff, students, parents, state requirements, dashboards, contractors, and the occasional copier jam. And you’ll be leading a team that is fiercely committed to kids, while making sure our site runs like clockwork.
What You’ll Do (a.k.a. Your Superpowers)
For Students
- Keep class sizes balanced and programming sharp
- Be a guide for IEPs, intakes, and documentation (we know, the paperwork mountain is real — you’ll help tame it)
- Oversee safety, BIPs, incident reporting, and physical management when needed
- Partner with families and the community to make sure every student gets the best shot at success
For Staff
- Hire, coach, and develop a powerhouse team (BTs, teachers, BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, PTs, you name it)
- Spot burnout before it happens — and build systems that prevent it
- Run PD days that don’t put people to sleep
- Keep an eye on performance, growth opportunities, and quality metrics
- Support student teachers, practicum placements, and test prep
For the Facility
- Manage the building (from cleaners to IT)
- Keep budgets in check and meet profit goals without losing our soul
- Lead community outreach (open houses, awareness walks, family events)
- Basically: if something’s broken, outdated, or needs a plan — you’re the person we turn to
What We’re Looking For
- Licensed Behavior Analyst (or eligible in WA) or a Special Education leader with the credentials and chops to take on this role
- Master’s degree (required)
- BCBA or BCBA-D (required)
- Hands‑on experience with severe behaviors and special education programming
- Leadership experience — supervising, mentoring, growing a team
- Willing and able to physically respond to students when needed (this isn’t a desk‑only job)
- Current driver’s license, insurance, reliable transportation, and phone
Extra Awesome If You Have
- 5+ years as a BCBA
- Familiarity with Central Reach EMR
- Background in special education leadership
- A knack for turning chaos into calm
