Job summary

AT Process Technologies is seeking a Site Director to lead our pilot energetics production site. You will be the single point of accountability for operations, safety, and security, and will partner with engineering and chemistry teams to plan and approve campaigns, balancing safety, logistics, and resource sharing.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in regulated manufacturing, familiarity with ATF/DoD frameworks, and the authority to halt activities when conditions warrant, ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 7+ years in operations, production, or facility management in a regulated environment.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of ATF and/or DoD explosives safety standards.
• Experience owning site safety and/or security programs; SOP development and enforcement.
• Proven ability to serve as final safety authority and halt activities when conditions warrant.
• Strong planning and coordination across engineering, operations, and support functions.

Responsibilities

• Own overall site operations, safety, and security as the single accountable authority for the pilot site; nothing proceeds on site without your knowledge and approval
• Work with engineering and chemistry teams to develop, review, and approve test and production plans, balancing technical objectives against safety, logistics, material availability, equipment readiness, and resource sharing between teams
• Serve as final go/no-go authority for test events, production campaigns, and energetic material operations, with unambiguous authority to halt or defer any activity
• Establish, maintain, and enforce site policies, SOPs, and controls, and hold all personnel and visitors accountable to them
• Ensure and document regulatory compliance across ATF, DoD explosives safety standards, DDESB, EPA/RCRA, ITAR, and Maine requirements
• Own the site’s physical security program, including access control and DoD contractor security requirements
• Coordinate campaigns, load-ins, commissioning, and acceptance testing to ensure alignment of people, materials, equipment, and infrastructure
• Own site readiness: infrastructure, utilities, storage, PPE, exclusion zones, and safety controls
• Lead emergency response planning and serve as incident commander for energetic material events; coordinate with local responders
• Prepare the site for regulatory inspections and audits and close out findings
• Manage relationships with regulators, customers, subcontractors, and the local community
• Build and develop the site team and enforce a strong safety culture
• Own site budget, procurement priorities, and capital planning in coordination with leadership
• Maintain build/test/safety/security/compliance records and keep documentation current
