Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth is seeking two Site Directors for new school-based sites at Shawmut Hills Elementary and Southwest Elementary. You will direct daily operations, ensure safe, high-quality programs, supervise staff, and build partnerships with schools and the community.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years working with youth, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. Bilingual candidates preferred; occasional weekend duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience working with youth in grades 1-12.
• Experience in youth development; knowledge of BGCA programs and initiatives preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
• Experience and demonstrated ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral concerns.
• Experience in customer or client service and external communication.
• Ability to develop, plan, and implement quality programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with the general public.
• Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
• CPR and First Aid certified, or ability to become certified.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages the daily operations of the Club location with a focus on safety and program quality.
• Provide strong leadership in overseeing Club operations.
• Supervise staff and ensure effective training and development.
• Support social and emotional learning through SEL staff collaboration.
• Develop and manage Club budgets and expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies.
• Maintain strong relationships with school staff and external partners.
• Recruit members and engage volunteers and community partners.
