Job summary

Andersen James Group in Houston is seeking a Project Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join our site development team. This role focuses on commercial and private developments including retail, office, healthcare, industrial, institutional, and mixed-use projects.

You will lead civil design, permitting, and client communication, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with architects, consultants, contractors, and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 6-15+ years of site/civil land development experience.
• Experience with grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater design.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and permitting of site development projects from concept through construction documents.
• Design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and assist with business development.
• Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, stormwater documentation, utility reports, and specifications.
• Perform and oversee hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and SWPPP preparation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
