Job summary

TYG is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our land development practice in the Dallas/Houston area. You'll contribute to design through approvals on private and municipal projects, collaborating with Project Managers, clients, and sub consultants.

We value hands-on engineers who can design site grading, utilities, and stormwater systems, prepare construction documents, and participate in municipal meetings. EIT preferred, AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency, and strong teamwork are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; EIT preferred.
• 1-3+ years of civil/site design experience with growth opportunities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and coordination of site development projects, including grading, utilities, and stormwater.
• Prepare construction documents, stormwater calculations, and permit submittals.
• Collaborate with clients and attend municipal meetings to support approvals.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and subconsultants to ensure timely deliverables.
• Contribute to private and municipal development projects.
• Increase project ownership as experience develops.

The Role

I'm working with a growing civil engineering consulting firm with a strong reputation in land development that is looking to expand its team in Houston.

The firm has built a strong presence in the market through its work across private and municipal development projects, offering engineers the opportunity to work on a varied project portfolio while developing their technical skills and taking on increasing responsibility.

This is a collaborative, design-focused environment where engineers work closely with experienced Project Managers, clients, municipalities, and sub consultants. The team is looking for individuals who are keen to contribute to projects from design through to approval and continue building a long-term career within land development.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support the design and coordination of site development projects, including grading, utilities, and stormwater systems
• Prepare construction documents, stormwater calculations, and permit submittals
• Collaborate with clients and attend municipal meetings to support project approvals
• Work closely with Project Managers and subconsultants to ensure timely and accurate project deliverables
• Contribute to a range of private and municipal development projects
• Take on increasing project ownership as your experience develops

What They're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 1-3+ years of experience in civil/site design, with opportunities available across different experience levels
• EIT licensure is preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
