Job summary

Ashland University Correctional Education is seeking a Site Coordinator to manage daily operations at correctional facilities in Missouri and partner with the DOC and AU teams to support incarcerated students. You will recruit students, assist with AU applications, and ensure access to courses and materials.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Financial Aid, proctoring tests, and maintaining FERPA-compliant records.

Qualifications

• Ability to use Learning Management System software and MS Office.
• Basic computer skills with ability to troubleshoot issues.
• General understanding of an academic environment.
• Ability to identify problems, suggest possible solutions and assist in resolution.
• Ability to multi-task, organize, communicate and prioritize work through to completion with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals, including AU faculty, administrators, incarcerated students and correctional facility staff.
• Pass a pre-employment DOC and AU background check.
• Be physically present at the facility for 80% of the work week.
• Assist at other correctional facilities as needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism, good judgement and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations at the assigned correctional facility(ies)/site(s) and represent the university in collaboration with the State Department of Corrections (DOC).
• Act as the liaison between the facility staff, students, and Ashland University (AU).
• Identify, screen and recruit students in alignment with Ashland University and DOC criteria.
• Collaborate with the Student Success team by assisting students with completion of the AU application paperwork and digital submission process.
• Support students by assisting them with issues related to student access and communications.
• Collaborate with the Financial Aid team to provide student support related to FAFSA and aid counseling.
• Collaborate with Academic Services through proctoring, recording and uploading tests and assignments.
