Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services seeks a Site/Civil Engineering Intern/Co-op in Tyler, TX to support feasibility studies and design tasks on land development projects. You will work with industry leaders and gain hands-on experience in field work, calculations, and design documentation.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MS Office knowledge, strong communication, and detail orientation.

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking and judgment abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Travel may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, schedules, and cost estimates using engineering software and equipment.
• Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data from reports, maps and plans.
• Support zoning, ordinance and permit assessments; assist with sidewalk estimations and project feasibility analysis.
• Provide field inspection services as needed.
• Apply engineering knowledge and advanced mathematics to project tasks.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other duties as requested.
