Job summary

VHB’s Land Engineering team in Watertown, MA is seeking a Site Civil Engineering Project Engineer to join a multidisciplinary group delivering land development, permitting, design and construction administration. The role emphasizes collaboration across engineers, planners, surveyors, and environmental teams on transportation and residential projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of civil engineering experience, a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and a PE license or plan to obtain

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers, planners, and designers to develop civil plans for land development and transportation projects.
• Contribute to design work in stormwater management, site layout, grading, utilities, and erosion control.
• Prepare plans and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation experience is a plus.
• Conduct fieldwork as needed, including measurements and observations.
• Perform engineering analyses and assist in calculations and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with agencies for development approvals.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
