Job summary

VHB is seeking a Land Development Civil Engineer for our Vermont office. You will join a collaborative team to design site civil plans for diverse projects, from ski resorts to housing and energy facilities.

The role requires 3–5+ years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and MS Office, and the ability to mentor junior staff while coordinating with project managers and clients. A strong focus on regulatory codes and sustainable design is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related degree.
• 3-5+ years of increasing engineering experience.
• EIT licensure preferred or have passed the FE Exam.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, MS Office.
• Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management.
• Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Experience with GIS Systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of professionals to develop site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of land development projects.
• Train and mentor junior staff on technical aspects and policies
• Assist Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers with managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload and staffing needs, while collaborating with clients and teammates across the organization
