Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Cleveland, OH seeks an Intern/Co-op – Site/Civil Engineer (Spring 2027) to support feasibility studies, fieldwork, reports, calculations, and design plans for land development projects. You will work closely with industry leadership to gain hands-on experience, expanding technical and professional knowledge while contributing to real-world projects.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree with strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering; Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred;
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite applications;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; travel may be required depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, cost estimates and design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related software.
• Analyze soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topography for project feasibility and design impacts.
• Support zoning, permit assessments, sidewalk estimations, and feasibility analysis.
• Provide field inspection services as needed and collaborate with team members on project tasks.
• Apply engineering knowledge and advanced mathematics to project work.
• Contribute to cross-functional team efforts on assignment delivery.
• Perform other duties as requested.
