Job summary

AMPORTS Inc. in Benicia, CA seeks a results-driven Continuous Improvement Specialist to observe, map, and optimize site processes across manufacturing, logistics, and maintenance.

You will lead improvement projects from initiation through completion, apply Lean and Six Sigma (DMAIC), train staff, develop SOPs, and monitor KPI-driven gains to sustain performance. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; Minimum of 5 years of experience in continuous improvement, process engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with pivot tables, data analysis, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Process Analysis: Observe, map, and analyze current state processes across site functions to identify bottlenecks, non-value-added steps, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage continuous improvement projects from initiation through completion, including defining scope, setting measurable goals, tracking progress, and reporting results to site leadership.
  • Methodology Application: Apply Lean principles (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke) and Six Sigma (DMAIC) to solve operational problems and drive sustainable change.
  • Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor site personnel on continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Standardization: Develop and document SOPs and work instructions for improved processes and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor KPIs to measure effectiveness and sustain gains.
