Job summary

Graycor Construction Company offers a Project Engineer Intern opportunity on a commercial construction site. You will receive ongoing one-on-one training, coaching, and mentoring to support your career development and self-assessment against core competencies.

You will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent, develop schedules, maintain documentation, and engage in procurement and subcontractor coordination.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in construction management, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Ability to travel extensively and reside at the project site for the summer internship.
• Ambition to grow professionally in private commercial construction.
• Fortitude to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Effective communication with managers, co-workers, subcontractors, and craft employees.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in project control, safety and quality programs.
• Develop and maintain critical path project schedule with lean construction techniques.
• Maintain project documentation and coordinate with Owner, Architect and Engineers.
• Assist in procurement of equipment and materials and track delivery.
• Track subcontractor and vendor performance and address technical/contractual matters.
