Job summary

Graycor Construction Company is offering a Summer Internship for an aspiring Project Engineer Intern. The role provides hands-on experience on a commercial construction project site, with ongoing coaching and mentoring to support career development.

You will assist the project team in scheduling, documentation, procurement, and vendor management, while learning Lean construction techniques and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing construction management, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Ability to travel extensively and reside at project site for the duration of the summer internship.
• Ambition to grow professionally and strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication with managers, co-workers, subcontractors.
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in project control, safety, and quality programs.
• Develop and maintain the critical path schedule and look-ahead plans.
• Maintain project documentation and liaison with Owner, Architect, Engineers for approvals.
• Assist in procurement of equipment and materials and track deliveries.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor performance; interface on technical/contractual matters.
